The “Fair” in Fairy

Hats off to Fairy.  Remember the Pampers UNICEF ad?

Whether they realised it or not, Pampers were holding children in under-developed countries hostage.  They were saying that the public should pay the ransom of 1 pack of nappies per hostage.  That, frankly, annoys the fuck out of me.

But Fairy have come along with their advert:

The advert above is actually for Fairy’s 2009 campaign.  This year’s is similar, but has one key difference.  The small print at the bottom of the ad says, “Fairy will donate £120,000 to the Make a Wish Foundation this Christmas.”  (Or words to that effect.)

It’s there, in black and white.  It doesn’t matter if you buy their product or not, they’ll make that donation.

You know what?  I think I’ll buy their product…
